The new Hercule Poirot novel – another brilliant murder mystery that can only be solved by the eponymous Belgian detective and his ‘little grey cells’.
Since the publication of her first book in 1920, Agatha Christie wrote 33 novels, two plays and more than 50 short stories featuring Hercule Poirot. Now, for the first time ever, the guardians of her legacy have approved a brand new novel featuring Dame Agatha’s most beloved creation.
Hercule Poirot’s quiet supper in a London coffee house is interrupted when a young woman confides to him that she is about to be murdered. She is terrified, but begs Poirot not to find and punish her killer. Once she is dead, she insists, justice will have been done.
Later that night, Poirot learns that three guests at the fashionable Bloxham Hotel have been murdered, a cufflink placed in each one’s mouth. Could there be a connection with the frightened woman? While Poirot struggles to put together the bizarre pieces of the puzzle, the murderer prepares another hotel bedroom for a fourth victim…
In the hands of internationally bestselling author Sophie Hannah, Poirot plunges into a mystery set in 1920s London – a diabolically clever puzzle that can only be solved by the talented Belgian detective and his ‘little grey cells’.

Sorry, but I find it a tad cheeky for any author, male or female to presume that they are entitled or competent enough to publish a book described as “The new Hercule Poirot” and even add the name of Agatha Christie, as though she was the author. This is incorrect in both cases. This woman’s so-called Hercule Poirot books are awful, long-winded, with pages and pages of illogical situations and extraneous information about people who have nothing whatsoever to do with the plot.
I already started to read this woman’s other so-called Poirot book and gave up after the first two chapters.

They have a quiz show in Britain (”Tipping Point”) & it was reported that, last wk, a contestant was asked the name of the previous deputy leader of the Labour Party. This was some high-level stuff, by quiz show standards. Anyway, after a while the fella replied “Agatha Christie” for his final, considered answer. He said “I’m not sure if she’s still in politics, but it’s definitely the name I’m going to go with.”
Long story short, it was the wrong answer. The Conservative Chief Whip (Charles Dickens) tweeted that he was “laughing his ass off” & “No wonder these eejits voted for Brexit - & for us as well!”
Even the contestant’s local MP (George Orwell) expressed bemusement & revulsion.

Caesar - I saw that as well. Talk about as thick as a brick. Like the woman on an earlier episode of The Chase and the three possible answers were Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton or Marie Curie. The woman picked the wrong one and said “I’ve never heard of any of them”. ^^
